Website
101: Can I have you design and post my site, and then do the updates
myself?
Sure, just
don't tell anyone it's our site.
After we
finish a site you are free to do anything you want with it. You own it. You
paid for the work. But if we will not be maintaining the site, we don't want
our name on it. If you haven't been designing as long as we have, and you start
changing our code, the site is not going to reflect the quality of the work we
do at CircleWebWorks.
Working with
html code and website graphics is something we have been doing for years. We're
good at it. We take a lot of pride in the professionalism of the sites we
design and code.
In the past,
when we have surrendered site upkeep, or tried to share it with someone less
experienced, we have spent a lot of time fixing other's mistakes. And we are
usually fixing the mistakes without being asked to do so. Which translates to,
"without getting paid to do so."
It's just not
worth it.
So we'll be
happy to design and code the site of your dreams, and then bow out of the
process. But if you want us to maintain your site after we post it, we'll
insist on doing it alone.
